Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria are launching a joint project called “Treasures of the East”

This fall, a new regional project called “Treasures of the East” will launch, dedicated to promoting the wines, cuisine, and tourist destinations of Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria. The initiative aims to bring together producers from the three countries and provide them with a common platform for promotion in international markets.

The first event will take place from October 2 to 4 at the Ramada Plaza Craiova Hotel, where an exhibition hall will be set up to showcase wines that won gold medals at the Vinul.ro Excellence Awards, as well as traditional foods, cheeses, craft beer, and other delicacies from three countries.

Following the project presentation, an international promotional campaign will continue, including press events and activities focused on foreign markets. More detailed information is available on the official website of the “Treasures of the East” project.

The organizers have prepared both a component designed for industry professionals and events for the general public. The B2B program will include conferences, case studies, knowledge-sharing sessions, and sessions dedicated to developing cross-border partnerships. At the same time, visitors will be able to participate in tastings, introductory wine courses, and competitions.

The date chosen for the event also holds symbolic significance. October 4 marks Romania’s National Gastronomy and Wine Day, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of October.

According to the organizers, the project emerged after participating in numerous international fairs and exhibitions, where producers from Eastern Europe discovered that, by presenting their products individually, it was more difficult for them to stand out in competition with countries that have richer traditions and greater renown.

Under the “Treasures of the East” concept, the organizers aim to create a unified identity for the region and jointly promote the diversity of wines, local cuisine, and tourist destinations in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Bulgaria. The project focuses on the culinary heritage and cultural influences that define Southeast Europe, recognizing that a unified approach can enhance the international visibility of producers and create new commercial and tourism opportunities.
