“Due to unfavorable weather conditions characterized by heavy rains and intense electrical discharges, damages and breaks of overhead power lines connecting Vulcanesti and Isacciu (400 kV) and Vulcanesti and MGRES were recorded,” economica.net reported.
At this stage, the specialists of the State Enterprise “Moldelectrica” have determined the nature of the fault on the Vulcanesti – MGRES power line, and the operative brigades are taking measures to eliminate the damage and restore its work as soon as possible. “In parallel, necessary technical checks are being carried out on other network elements affected by extreme weather conditions,” Moldelectrica, the network operator in Moldova, said.
“We once again emphasize that despite the incidents in the transmission network, end consumers have not been disconnected from electricity. The national energy system continues to operate in a controlled and stable mode thanks to the operational measures promptly carried out by the dispatchers and technical teams of the enterprise.
Currently, the entire operational staff of the State Enterprise “Moldelectrica” is mobilized at full capacity for the safe restoration and synchronization of the 400 kV transmission line, as well as for maintaining the reliability of the electricity transmission system”.
At the same time, in the context of possible overloads in such situations, we ask consumers to use electricity rationally and responsibly, avoiding, if possible, excessive consumption during peak hours, in order to reduce the risk of additional disruptions in the network,” Moldelectrica also reported.
Representatives of the Romanian energy system, with whom journalists spoke, told them that in addition to the situation in Moldova, the problem also exists in the south of Ukraine, near Odessa, as a result of an incident due to overloading of lines.
“We are preparing to create islands on the 110 kV line between Romania and the Republic of Moldova to help them. We are meeting the needs of the Republic of Moldova in importing electricity along the Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova route,” the interlocutors said.
