
The previous morning, the head of state met with Slovenian President Natasa Pirtz-Musar. Sandu called Slovenia “a reliable friend and ally on Moldova’s path to the EU”.
Earlier in the day, Maia Sandu held talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in the field of energy and regional stability. We discussed deepening bilateral ties and common interest in peace and prosperity,” Sandu wrote in X (Twitter).
Later, the president posted a picture with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. She said the two sides discussed regional security, trade growth and investment opportunities between Moldova and Turkey.
“We also talked about the Gagauz region, which connects our countries and serves as a bridge for closer cooperation. The conversation was productive,” the head of state specified.
Sandu also held a meeting with the chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, with whom she exchanged the experience of European integration.
The press service of the President has not yet provided details of the meetings and participation in the forum.
Maja Sandu was accompanied at the meetings by Foreign Minister Mihail Popšoji, who also briefly described the event and accompanied the message with a photo album.
The fifth Antalya Diplomatic Forum was held on April 17-19. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the opening of the forum, said that the international system is going through a serious crisis and a turning point. At the same time, he said that “Turkey is pursuing a peace-loving foreign policy around the world.”
