In Germany, an operation is underway to free hostages in a bank

In the city of Zinzig in western Germany (Rhineland-Palatinate), unknown persons took hostages in a bank branch.

The department is located in the center of the city, there is a police operation, the special forces have been pulled to the site, helicopters are circling over the city, RBC reports with reference to Bild.

“It is currently believed that there are several criminals and hostages inside the bank. One of the hostages is the driver of a collection vehicle,” a police spokesman told Bild.

According to the publication, an armored truck drove up to the Volksbank branch in the morning. An unknown man, threatening the driver, took him hostage. According to the portal, one of the attackers is inside the bank vault along with a bank employee.
