This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the European Commissioner for enlargement Marta Kos during a press conference and Reuters.

According to her, Brussels expects to make the first payments as early as next week. Kos noted that everything concerning Ukraine is the responsibility of the European Commission. “We are moving in the right direction and I hope that as early as next week we will be able to send the first payments,” the European Commissioner emphasized. But she did not specify what exactly the volume of the first tranche would be.

It is worth noting that the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen , made a statement in April about the first 6 billion loan to Ukraine in the current quarter. These funds will be used to finance drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will direct the first tranche to the development of domestic defense production. The priority areas will be the production of drones and miltech technologies.
