Digital democracy: government launches single platform for public consultation

The Government has approved the concept and operating regulations of the renewed National Portal of Public Participation - particip.gov.md. The new system is designed to become a "single window" for interaction between the authorities, business and civil society, putting an end to the search for information in disparate sources.

A single platform for public consultations

The development of the system has not been finalized yet; it is planned that it will become a single official platform for public consultations, where all data on draft decisions of state bodies will be collected. Thus, the dispersion of information in different sources will be eliminated.

Each draft decision will have an electronic dossier. It will include relevant documents, comments and recommendations received, a set of proposals, responses from the authorities, and information on the current stage of consideration.

For citizens, this means more convenient tracking of the decision-making process – from initiative to approval. Users will be able to subscribe to topics of interest, receive notifications of new consultations, as well as submit their proposals online and track how they are being considered.

“The authorities will be obliged to consider and respond to these proposals, thus we will strengthen the responsibility of decision-makers,” said Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of the Government.
