AI is trained to match military aircraft to the nearest refueler, offering the safest option. The innovative technology was reported by the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong, China).

Minimizing the human factor

AI automatically calculates fuel logistics, safe distance and the order of planes in the sky, reducing the risk of a critical approach. Sophisticated AI algorithms minimize the human factor by promptly providing pilots with all necessary information.

Data for analysis comes from certain squares where air combat vehicles are concentrated. The AI analyzes a huge array of data, in particular, the remaining fuel in the tanks and the aircraft’s exact heading.

Increased efficiency

The system implemented in China increases the efficiency of the entire process. The AI does not just look for the nearest gas station, but chooses the most suitable option in terms of safety. In case of queues, the AI suggests approaching aircraft to fly further away and minimizes the probability of a collision. In this way, it coordinates the movement of the entire air fleet heading for refueling.
