The program launched by the government has a total budget of LE 40 million, with a ceiling of up to LE 1 million per project, and aims to replace or modernize about 40 elevators across the country.

These interventions will contribute to increasing the safety of residents, improving accessibility of residential buildings – especially for the elderly and people with disabilities – as well as reducing energy consumption.

Apartment owners’ associations from Chisinau, Balti and other cities in the country with high-rise buildings are eligible to apply. Applications are submitted exclusively in electronic form through the Information System for Management of Regional and Local Development Programs and Projects.

The program was initiated under conditions when most elevators in the country are outdated, many of them have exceeded their legal service life, which creates risks for users and leads to high maintenance costs.
