A 42-year-old woman arrived in the Republic of Moldova on a flight from Dubai and chose the “green” lane, indicating that she had no goods subject to declaration.
However, upon inspecting her luggage, customs officials discovered several pieces of luxury white gold jewelry encrusted with diamonds. Their estimated value is approximately $50,000. In addition, her luggage contained various jewelry boxes of the same brand, which had not been declared to customs authorities.
As a result, the goods were seized and are subject to confiscation, and the individual faces potential penalties under the Criminal Procedure Code of Moldova.
