As noted in the press release, this was announced during the recent “Incoming Tourism Forum 2026.” The Chisinau Municipality Tourism Management Committee (CMDTC) will bring together representatives of local public administration, the business community, and other organizations involved in promoting the capital.
The committee’s establishment is based on an order signed by Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban, which approves the composition of the new body and its operating regulations. City officials state that the committee will facilitate more effective coordination of tourism projects and strategies.
Among the CMDTC’s priorities are promoting the capital as a tourist destination, raising awareness of its cultural and urban heritage, and developing partnerships that enhance the city’s appeal to tourists and investors.
It is noted that the initiative is being implemented as part of the SUSDEST-NET project, “Sustainable Destinations Black Sea Network,” co-financed by the European “Interreg NEST Black Sea Basin Programme.”
This management model is consistent with practices used in Europe’s modern tourism sector.
