On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told state television that the US and Iranian positions had begun to converge in the past week, but warned that this did not mean agreements had been reached on key issues and accused the US side of “contradictory statements”, the BBC reported.
On social media, Trump wrote that he had a “very productive conversation” with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and other countries about the “Memorandum of Understanding concerning the WORLD”.
“The agreement has been generally agreed to and awaits final approval by the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran and a number of other countries listed,” Trump said.
“The final details of the deal are being discussed and will be announced shortly,” he added.
He also said he had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday that “went very well.”
