The Artificial Intelligence for All program will start in May. It will be overseen by Malta’s Digital Innovation Authority. Citizens living outside the country will also be able to participate, RBC reports.

ChatGPT Plus subscription in Malta costs $20 per month. About 574 thousand people live on the island.

Economy Minister Silvio Schembri called the agreement with OpenAI the first partnership of such scale and said that the country wants to bring its citizens “in the vanguard of global change”.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the parties.
