On his social network X, the billionaire published a short but loud post, “FSD V14.3.3 is a banger” – which can be translated as “FSD V14.3.3 is a banger”.
Behind that almost meme-like phrase is an important signal to the market: Musk is effectively hinting that Tesla is getting closer to another major leap in autonomous driving. In the latest FSD updates, the company promised 20% faster system response, improved neural network performance in challenging weather conditions, more confident obstacle recognition, and a “human” driving style.
X users and Tesla owners have reacted with expectedly strong reactions. The company’s supporters call the update “the best version of Autopilot in history” and publish videos of Tesla cars reacting faster to pedestrians, sudden lane changes and dangerous situations on the road. Some owners write that the system “drives almost like an experienced person”.
However, skeptics remind: despite the name Full Self-Driving, Tesla’s technology is still officially only Level 2 – that is, it requires constant control from the driver.
Musk’s critics also note that the head of Tesla has been promising “almost ready” full-fledged unmanned driving for years, but the deadlines are constantly being pushed back.
Nevertheless, the very fact that such statements appear is important for investors: the market perceives the development of FSD as a key factor in Tesla’s future value – even more important than electric car sales. And every new enthusiastic post by Musk around autopilot instantly turns into a separate event for the company’s fans and the technology community.
