The number of daily page views decreased by the same percentage last month – to 369,000. During the entire month, users opened 125.13 million pages, which is 7.2% less than in March.
At the same time, the average visitor spent 58 minutes and 38 seconds on the Internet in April, which is 9.3% less than a month earlier.
Audience reach was 98.9%, down 0.2 percentage points (pp.) from March.
Some decline in April compared to March can be explained by the fact that the third month of the current year was very eventful: on February 28, Israel and the USA started to strike Iran, and then the energy crisis came to Moldova.
Audience profiles
Among the unique visitors of the Moldovan Internet, the majority of unique visitors are women – 50,7%, and their number in April compared to March decreased by 0,4 pps. (Hereinafter, all data are for April 2026, and the difference is in percentage points compared to March).
But men spend much more time in the Web: 64.1% (+0.4 pp.). And they also have a significantly higher number of page views – 62.5% (- 1.1 pp.).
Men and women “in full bloom” and people of age are the most frequent users of the Moldovan Internet:
– 15-24: 22.2% (-0.7 pp.);
– 25-34: 25.0% (+1.4 pp.);
– 35-44: 18.0% (-0.9 pp.);
– 45-54: 13.8% (+0.1 pp.);
– 55+: 20.9% (+0.1 pp.).
And people over 55 spend much more time online than other categories of users – 31.6%. And they also account for the majority of impressions – 26.8% (+0.3 pp.).
As an explanation, we can give the example of Google AdSence, the most popular advertising mechanism in Moldova: if you are going to place an advertisement there aimed at young people under 24 years old, its effectiveness will be only 14.4%, the rest of the impressions will be for other age categories.
Of course, there are sites where the proportion of young people (or women, or people interested in economics, etc.) is higher. But here marketers need to place more targeted advertising through banners or texts.
It is not pensioners who visit the Internet the most, as one might think, but specialists/technicians, who account for 45.8% (+0.6 p.p.).
Most Internet users (58.4%) have a monthly income per family member of less than 8,000 lei, and only 4.5% have earnings above 30,000 lei.
It is interesting that some sites monitored by BATI are not visited by rich people at all, and there are quite a lot of them. And among them there are quite famous portals with foreign funding.
