Responding to pleas from renewable energy producers, the Parliamentary Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance announced a public consultation on May 25.

The discussions will focus on the legal framework regulating the activities of specialized companies and opportunities to support entrepreneurs investing in green energy projects.

As Logos Press previously wrote, Moldova’s renewable energy sector has recorded record figures. Over the last four years, the installed capacity has increased almost 12 times. A quarter of the total volume of electricity consumed is the share of “green” energy. At the current stage, the state is emphasizing the development of wind energy as a more stable source of generation, as well as energy storage systems.

Experts also believe that the main task of 2026 for Moldova is the development of electricity storage capacities. Economist Veaceslav Ionita suggests introducing a number of incentives in this area, including 10-year tax breaks, accelerated VAT refunds, and corporate tax cuts.
