The campaign announced by the Ministry of Environmental Protection is under the slogan “Plastic does not disappear by itself. Become part of the solution!”. It was launched on July 3, the International Plastic Bag Free Day.
The aim of the campaign is to inform people about how they can reduce plastic pollution through everyday solutions: avoid single-use plastic products, reuse what they already have, repair when possible and recycle properly.
It’s worth noting that it can take up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to decompose under natural conditions, with only 1% of plastic bags recyclable today.
