
At the same time, the Republic of Moldova ranks penultimate and Ukraine last in terms of minimum wage among European countries. Albania is on the third place from the end. There, the minimum wage is 408 euros, which is 43% more than in Moldova and 2.4 times more than in Ukraine.
For comparison, the lowest minimum wage among EU countries is in Bulgaria – 551 euros. In Romania – 814 euros.
As a benchmark figure we can use the minimum wage in the United States, which in terms of European currency is 1210 euros. This is less than in Slovenia, Spain, France, Belgium and Germany.
And the leaders in Europe in terms of minimum wage are Luxembourg – 2638 euros, Ireland – 2282 euros and the Netherlands – 2193 euros.
It should be borne in mind that in this case the statistical service of the European Union provides nominal figures, without recalculating them according to purchasing power parity.
