In total, about 14,000 children participated in municipal summer camps and various programs organized throughout the summer. The majority of participants—about 10,000 students—were enrolled in programs within the municipal education system. Educational, athletic, creative, and recreational activities were organized for them. Moreover, the program was completely free for 1,300 children.
The city government’s summer program has been running for the fifth consecutive year. In addition to traditional camps, the program is gradually incorporating themed events, library activities, sports training, creative workshops, and other activities for children and teenagers.
Municipal institutions for education, culture, and child protection were responsible for organizing the summer programs. Teachers, counselors, coaches, librarians, and specialists from community centers were involved in their implementation.
The city government is proposing an unusual way to wrap up the summer vacation. On Saturday, August 29, a special event organized by the Municipal Youth Center will take place in Chisinau. Starting at 8:00 p.m., a trolleybus will circulate throughout the city, transforming for one evening into a dance floor complete with a DJ, music, and a festive atmosphere.
“One trolleybus. One evening. Lots of dancing. And the last days of summer!” the organizers note. Interest in the event has been high: all seats are already booked.
