As noted in a statement from the Ministry of Finance, officials addressed issues related to the management of external financing and the implementation of investment projects, placing particular emphasis on improving the efficiency of public funds and achieving concrete results from investments carried out with World Bank support.

In addition, the parties discussed the development of a new partnership framework program for the upcoming period, which will define the priorities for future cooperation.

As previously reported by Logos Press, the World Bank’s current portfolio in Moldova includes 14 projects worth 735.4 million euros.

It comprises 11 investment projects, the DPO budget support program, and two projects at an advanced stage of preparation.

The World Bank-supported initiatives cover energy and energy efficiency, water supply and sanitation, agriculture and irrigation, education, health care, and rehabilitation services.

The projects are also aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, improving infrastructure in rural areas, and enhancing the country’s resilience to external and internal risks.

Over the entire period of cooperation with the World Bank, more than 45 projects totaling 1.6 billion euros have been implemented in Moldova.
