In Merculești, an inventory of assets was taken prior to their transfer to Chisinau Airport

An inventory of assets was conducted at Mărulești International Airport, and 100 items were identified that are planned to be transferred to the management of Chișinău International Airport. The Public Property Agency prepared the corresponding draft government resolution.

Markulești

These are facilities located on the airport grounds in the village of Lunga, in the Florești district. The list includes buildings and structures, airfield infrastructure facilities—including the runway and taxiway, the customs terminal, utility networks, and hangars—as well as facilities under construction.

The transfer will be carried out on a gratuitous basis.

The decision stems from legislative changes under which the E. Doga Chisinau International Airport has been designated as the general investor for Merculești Airport. An interagency working group was formed to identify the necessary assets, with representatives from two state-owned enterprises, the Public Property Agency, and the Ministry of Defense.

Once the procedure is complete, Chisinau International Airport will manage two airfields—in Chisinau and Merculești. At the same time, Mărculești Airport will continue to lease helicopters, as well as perform aircraft repairs and maintenance.

As Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Vladimir Bolya previously stated, a number of foreign investors have expressed interest in Merculești Airport and are considering investing in its development, particularly in the strategically important air cargo sector.
