The agreement was signed as part of the U.S. government’s “Arsenal of Freedom” initiative, according to Reuters. Under this contract, annual missile production is expected to reach more than 1,000 units per year.
Scaling Up Supply Chains and Increasing Volumes
Company representatives note that delivery volumes have already increased significantly this year: in the first half of 2026, Raytheon delivered three times as many Tomahawk cruise missiles to the U.S. Navy as it did during the same period in 2025.
To meet its production targets, RTX is engaging hundreds of small and medium-sized supplier companies across the United States. Investments will be directed toward expanding production capacity, modernizing production lines, and increasing the workforce.
The long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles remain a key high-precision strike weapon for the U.S. Navy, launched from both surface ships and submarines.
The deal reflects the growing demand to replenish and expand arsenals of precision-guided weapons, both for the U.S. military and for key NATO allies, the publication notes.
