Youth Day

“International Youth Day is dedicated to young people, their ideas, and the opportunities we must create to bring those ideas to life. We want young people to be not just beneficiaries of the programs we develop, but also active partners in building and developing the communities of which they are a part,” said Sergiu Gurin, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research.

Opportunity Fair and Discussions

At the Youth Opportunities Fair, participants interacted with organizations, institutions, and youth centers; learned about the programs and services available to them; and discovered how they can get involved in initiatives and events in their communities.

Various themed zones were set up in “Mihai Volontir” Park, ranging from educational and career opportunities, volunteering, and dialogue with government agencies to sports, games, creative activities, and interactive events.

The dialogue with young people also continued during two panel discussions. The panel discussion “Strategic Partnership for the SMART Generation” brought together government officials and partners to discuss cooperation in developing opportunities for the younger generation. The panel discussion “The Voice of Youth in the Community” addressed topics such as civic engagement, local initiatives, and the role of youth in transforming communities.

In total, more than 50 partners and over 100 volunteers contributed to the organization and implementation of the event.

The municipality of Bălți is the “Youth Capital 2026,” and throughout the year, it hosts events and initiatives aimed at increasing youth participation and development.
