Twenty-two European winery-affiliated restaurants offer much more than just cheese plates to accompany wine, according to Euronews, citing *Wine Enthusiast* magazine. Some wineries today feature cuisine that draws visitors specifically to those locations, pairing excellent food with equally impressive wines and views.

Italian wineries make up the largest portion of the magazine’s selection—there are six of them. Next come France, Portugal, England, and Spain.

In addition to these well-known destinations, the Wine Enthusiast list also includes several less obvious European options. These are Austria, Germany, Greece, and Hungary. The list also includes Liechtenstein and Moldova.

Our country is represented on the list by two wineries: Krikova and Chateau Vartely. Euronews correspondent Anka Ulea descends into the Krikova cellars, where a collection of 1.3 million bottles from around the world is stored, and talks about Krikova’s sparkling wine.

And after exploring the 15th-century monastery carved into the slope of Stary Orhei Mountain, the journalist samples local cuisine and wines at Chateau Vartely.
