As a result of the searches, approximately 1,000,000 cigarettes of a domestic brand were seized; they were stored in 100 cartons intended for subsequent illegal export from the country.
Approximately 600,000 lei, believed to have been obtained through criminal means, were also discovered and seized, along with a vehicle believed to have been used to commit the crime, computer equipment, and other items relevant to the case.
A 38-year-old Moldovan citizen is under investigation in connection with the case.
In addition, other criminal proceedings are underway to establish all the circumstances of the case and identify all individuals involved in the commission of the crime.
