The government is consulting with the business community on support measures

Government and business representatives are identifying common solutions to support companies in the context of energy challenges. Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Osmochescu discussed this issue today with representatives of the business community during a meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry through its sectoral committees on entrepreneurship.

“Through dialogue, we will be able to better understand the challenges companies face and work together to identify solutions that promote investment, competitiveness, and economic growth,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Key areas of focus may include the use of compensation mechanisms, incentivizing investments in energy efficiency, and reducing the impact of energy costs on companies’ competitiveness.

The Ministry of Economic Development continues to implement financial support programs that offset part of the increase in electricity rates for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in manufacturing and processing. The authorities are focusing on co-financing energy efficiency initiatives, credit guarantees, and administrative regulation of energy consumption.

Business support measures, implemented against the backdrop of the regional energy crisis and the introduction of a state of heightened readiness in the energy sector, do not provide for direct compensation payments to enterprises, as proposed by the business community.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization will continue to collaborate with private-sector representatives to analyze the proposals submitted and develop support measures aimed at meeting the real needs of entrepreneurs, according to an official statement from the ministry.
