Of the total investment, more than $2,275 million will be allocated to modernizing the production division.
This is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs in production, production process management, and technology management.
“These investments are a natural step in the development of the AGG Group. We strive to develop modern local facilities, strengthen quality control, and build stable and efficient processes. Reinvesting in Moldova is a strategic decision that reflects our confidence in the potential of the local economy,” emphasized Angela Georgice, President of AGG Group.
In the initial phase, production will be used primarily to meet the group’s internal needs. The company believes the project will reduce dependence on imports—particularly of chicken meat—and ensure more predictable supply planning.
Depending on production capacity and demand trends, a portion of the eggs produced may be exported.
A Promising Sector
According to available data, poultry exports from Moldova totaled $4.7 million in 2025, a 452% increase from the previous year. The two largest export markets—the Netherlands (41.8%, $2 million) and Spain (32.2%, $1.5 million)—accounted for 74% of poultry exports.
At the same time, egg exports reached 2.3 million kilograms, equivalent to $4.68 million, with Romania (43.4%, $2 million) and the Netherlands (29.2%, $1.4 million), which together accounted for nearly 73% of total egg exports.
This trend intensified in the first quarter of 2026: egg exports reached $1.2 million, an increase of 124% compared to the same period in 2025, while the volume grew more moderately, by 25% (444,000 kg), indicating a significant increase in the average export price. In the first quarter of 2026, the Netherlands (51.3%) and Romania (46.1%) accounted for more than 97% of egg exports, while poultry meat exports declined slightly, by 16.5%, compared to the first quarter of 2025.
The AGG Group operates in the food production, distribution, retail, HoReCa, logistics, information technology, and e-commerce sectors. By acquiring and modernizing the farm, the company is strengthening its control over several stages of the value chain, from production and supply to distribution, retail, and direct relationships with consumers. The group’s flagship brand and one of its best-known food brands is Mezellini (a brand of meat products and delicacies produced at the meat processing plant in the village of Bulboaka).
