She demanded a report on how the government managed crisis situations in the livestock sector. The document must include data on the map and the spread of disease outbreaks, information on affected citizens and economic entities, an assessment of the damage incurred, as well as details on the sanitary and veterinary measures implemented between 2021 and 2026.
In addition, Yakoni requested information on compensation claims filed by economic entities with the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and the government, on payments made, the status of administrative cases and legal disputes between government agencies and business owners.
“Given the scale of the financial losses incurred by large commercial livestock complexes, legal entities, as well as private subsistence farms and individuals, it is necessary to ensure full transparency regarding epizootic management and the use of public funds allocated to mitigate these losses,” stated Liliana Iaconi.
The requested information must be presented at the next plenary session of Parliament.
