According to the published documentation, the contractor is to develop a working design for the construction of a parking lot with an area of approximately 3.5 hectares. The design must comply with the current building codes of the Republic of Moldova and European standards applicable to the road sector.

The procurement is being conducted as an open tender, and the winner will be selected based on the lowest price. The contract is scheduled to run from late August 2026 to March 1, 2027.

The parking lot will become part of the border corridor’s infrastructure

The technical specifications stipulate that the facility will be equipped with an entry and exit control system featuring automatic barriers and license plate recognition, outdoor lighting, video surveillance, and LED information screens.

In addition, the project must include an administrative office for maintaining the information system, a server room, a backup power supply, restroom facilities, a food service area, and a waste collection area.

The development of the documentation will be based on the previously prepared feasibility study for the construction of the Giurgiulești bypass and the adjacent parking lot. The project will also include an environmental section, cost estimates, an assessment of the required land parcels, and a work schedule.

The Giurgiulești bypass road provides transportation links to border crossing points with Romania and Ukraine; therefore, the creation of a specialized parking area should be part of the development of this transportation hub’s logistics infrastructure.
