Axios reports this, citing sources.
According to the publication, over the previous 13 days, Trump had approved strike plans on a daily basis, which the military carried out within a few hours. On July 24, the president received a similar plan but did not give the “green light”; instead, he ordered that no strikes be carried out.
Axios notes that Trump’s decision reflects both his willingness to give diplomacy more room to maneuver and his acknowledgment that the current level of U.S. strikes has reached the limit of its effectiveness.
At the same time, it is noted that it is unclear whether President Trump’s decision was a one-time occurrence.
Sources for the website reported that the U.S. military continues to prepare plans for a possible return to large-scale combat operations, but Trump has not issued any orders in that regard.
The night of July 25 was indeed the first night in the past two weeks that U.S. forces did not carry out strikes against Iran, according to the Telegram channel “Donald Trump in Russian.”
