ANOFM helps over 12,000 people find jobs in first half of 2026

The employment plan is almost complete

In the first half of the year, the regional employment offices of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) assisted 12,251 job seekers in finding work. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has set a goal of helping 25,000 job seekers find employment in 2026. In 2025, more than 20,000 people were placed in jobs through the National Employment Agency, which is 20% more than in 2024.

ANOFM provides a breakdown of the total number of people placed in jobs: Of the 3,853 people who contacted the agency, 31.5% were unemployed, and 344 were day laborers or partially employed unemployed individuals working up to 3 months a year.

“Every person who finds a job is a step toward a more inclusive and robust labor market. We will continue to invest in modern employment services and collaborate with employers so that people have access to stable jobs and opportunities for professional development in the Republic of Moldova,” said Natalia Plugaru, Minister of Labor and Social Protection.

According to statistics published by the ministry, of the total number of people who found work, 42.2% were women (5,175), 18.5% were people aged 55 and older (2,270), 1.8% were people with disabilities (219), 0.5% were migrants returning from abroad (60), and 25% were Roma.

Job placements for job seekers were concentrated primarily in the following sectors: community, social, and personal services (37.8%), followed by agriculture (16.2%), wholesale and retail trade (14.5%), manufacturing (8.2%), public administration (5.9%), construction (4.2%), health care and social assistance (3.6%), education (2.6%), and transportation, warehousing, and communications (2.1%).
