Ukraine has resumed exporting urea to Europe for the first time in a long time. Last week, 12,000 tonnes of this nitrogen fertilizer were shipped from the Ukrainian port of Chernomorsk to Italy.

This was reported by Latifundist with reference to Chem-Courier. Earlier, small batches of Ukrainian urea were also supplied to Romania and Hungary.

At the same time, two urea production workshops continue to operate at the Azot plant in Cherkasy: the output of one is used to produce UAN (liquid form of fertilizer), while the other produces dry granulated urea.

Urea prices continue to decline against the backdrop of weak demand and lower global stock exchange quotations. Currently, Ukrainian urea is offered at UAH 37.5-40.7 thousand/t (EUR 726-788/t, CPT Ukraine).

The imported product is available on the Ukrainian market at UAH 42-43.5 ths/t (EUR 813-843/t, EXW ports of Ukraine), while prices at domestic warehouses are UAH 38-41 ths/t (EUR 736-794/t, EXW warehouses of Ukraine). Some offers of imported urea at UAH 38-39 th/t (EXW warehouses of Ukraine) provide for delivery in the first half of June.

For comparison, Turkmen urea is offered at $580-590/t (FOB Black Sea). In the Black Sea region, producers are taking a wait-and-see approach to the formation of fixed FOB prices after the Indian company NFL announced a new tender for the purchase of 1.7 mln tons of urea.
