The draft is elaborated on the basis of Article 12 of the Law no. 1225-XII on the rehabilitation of victims of political repressions and provides for the reimbursement of the value of property that cannot be returned in kind.
According to the law, land plots, forests, perennial plantations, as well as other objects withdrawn from civil turnover are not subject to return. In such cases, the state pays monetary compensation for property confiscated during the period of political repressions.
Compensations will be provided on the basis of decisions of special district and municipal commissions after consideration of applications of rehabilitated persons or their heirs.
The funds are planned to be distributed between the municipal councils of Chisinau and Balti, as well as the district councils of Calarasi, Donduseni, Dubasari and Riscani.
