
According to the CU press service, the discussions focused on digitalization of customs processes, development of compatible information systems with EU systems, strengthening analytical and investigative capabilities, as well as providing modern equipment for customs control.
Discussions focused on assessing joint projects currently underway, as well as identifying new areas of cooperation in line with assistance needs and strategic priorities for the development of the customs administration.
Radu Vrabie, Director of Customs, commended the OSCE’s continued support for operational and institutional capacity-building, emphasizing its contribution to building resilience in the context of emerging challenges in the region.
At the same time, the OSCE representatives noted the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the process of harmonizing the national customs legislation with that of the European Union and expressed willingness to continue the implementation of assistance projects in support of European integration objectives in the customs dimension.
