During the month, the “tricolor” picked up one point thanks to a 1-1 draw with Estonia in the European qualifying tournament for the World Cup-2026. Also in October, Moldova played a friendly match against Romania, where they lost 1:2.

Among the rivals in the qualifying group, the four-time world champions Italians are the highest, rising to the ninth place. The Norwegians, who lead the group, have improved by two positions and are 29th in the world. Israel is 78th and Estonia is 130th. Romania improved its position, moving up from 51st to 47th.
Spain remains the leader in the FIFA ranking, while Argentina moved up to the second position and France dropped to the third. The best growth in the ranking was demonstrated by the national team of Niger, which rose by nine positions (108th place). The biggest drop was in Greece, which dropped eight positions (48th place).
