The Ministry of Agriculture announced agricultural subsidies as part of a new strategy

The Strategic Agricultural Policy Program for 2026–2030 has entered into force. It provides for a new model for subsidizing agricultural producers. In 2026, support measures will be launched for operators in the crop and livestock sectors—in particular, young farmers and family farms—as well as measures to promote irrigation and organic farming.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Industrial Policy (MAIA), the following types of subsidies are expected to be allocated this year:

  • Income support for producers of sugar beets; greenhouse vegetables; field-grown vegetables and potatoes; cow’s, sheep’s, and goat’s milk; beef, lamb, pork, rabbit meat, and poultry.
  • Income support for livestock producers in the form of direct “per-head” payments—for young cattle, sheep, and goats, as well as for horses.
  • Financial contributions to cover insurance premiums (insurance premiums paid by agricultural producers).
  • Funding for the transition to organic farming and related certification.
  • Support for investments in enhancing resilience to climate change and sustainable management of natural resources, including the acquisition and modernization of irrigation systems.
  • Support for the employment of young people and beginning farmers; small farmers and family farms.

In the near future, the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments (AIPA) will publish on its official website, in the section dedicated to the PSPA, information on the conditions for participating in calls for subsidized projects, applicant guides, application forms, lists of required documents, and submission deadlines for each of the subsidy programs.

Starting July 8, 2026, AIPA and MAIA will conduct an information campaign on new state budget funding opportunities for Moldovan agricultural producers.
