According to the Moldovan president’s press service, Sandu will co-host the session dedicated to countering hybrid threats and strengthening democratic sustainability with French President Emmanuel Macron. “This topic is central to the European security agenda,” the press service of the head of state emphasizes.

In addition, the Moldovan president will participate in the meeting of the European Coalition against Drugs. This initiative was launched last year by French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni.

On the margins of the summit, the head of state will hold a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings.

“The European Political Community Summit brings together leaders from more than 40 countries of the continent and is an important forum for political dialog, security cooperation and strengthening European unity,” the press service said in a statement.

It should be noted that the 8th EPC summit will be held under the motto “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe”. Discussions in Yerevan will focus on strengthening democratic stability, developing connectivity, strengthening economic and energy security, as well as new security challenges and regional issues.

As Logos Press previously wrote, the European Union will be represented at the summit by the head of the EU Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. Armenia will be represented by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The European Political Community unites the leaders of almost 50 European countries on an equal footing, in the spirit of unity and common purpose. It has already held seven meetings since 2022, including a summit in Chisinau in June 2023.
