The projects, carried out in partnership with universities in the Republic of Moldova, will focus on current European topics: the use of artificial intelligence for sustainable development and the strengthening of social cohesion.
The first project is being carried out in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and is titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Growth: A Multidimensional Analysis of the 3E System and Policy Implications.”
The project aims to analyze how artificial intelligence-based technologies can contribute to a balanced interaction between the economy, energy, and the environment—the three components of the 3E model used in sustainable development research. Using advanced econometric methods and extensive datasets, the project will assess the opportunities and risks associated with digital transformation and highlight the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating the transition to a green and competitive economy. Researchers will also examine how digital tools and artificial intelligence algorithms can contribute to the development of more effective public policies in the areas of green and digital transitions—two key priorities for the European Union in the coming decade.
The second winning project is being carried out in collaboration with the State University of Moldova. It is titled “Promoting Social Cohesion in Romania and Moldova: Identifying Trends and Developing Policies in the Context of the New European Concept of Cohesion.”
The study will analyze the main social challenges facing the two countries and assess the effectiveness of public policies aimed at reducing inequality, enhancing social integration, and strengthening solidarity in society. To achieve this goal, researchers from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu and the State University of Moldova will combine statistical and comparative analysis of social data with an in-depth assessment of existing public policies in the two countries. The research findings will be used by decision-makers to develop policies aligned with new European goals in the areas of social cohesion and regional development.
Collaboration with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the State University of Moldova contributes to strengthening the common research space between the two countries and developing academic networks capable of participating in future large-scale European programs.
