The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), as part of the “Sustainable Communities through Women’s Empowerment” project, funded by Sweden and Norway, will provide 40 women entrepreneurs in Moldova’s agricultural sector with financial support to develop climate-resilient businesses.
During the past workweek, the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments approved for payment applications for financial support totaling 17.49 million lei from the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and the Rural Environment and the Republic of Moldova’s Growth Plan for 2025–2027.
The National Center for Seed Research and Production will serve as a facility for testing European industrial hemp varieties and providing scientific support for their production to meet the needs of the industry in the Republic of Moldova. This was announced by the center’s director, Anatolie Spivachenko, during a seminar on adapting agriculture to climate change.
