The program is being implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. Following an evaluation of 50 applications submitted by nonprofit organizations from across the country, initiatives were selected that aim to improve the quality of life for older adults by developing digital and economic skills, facilitating employment, and promoting volunteerism.
The 11 winning organizations will implement their projects over a period of 6 months. Among them are: the “Anenii Noi-Dor” Association, the “Lunca Răutului” Local Initiative Group Association, the “Filipeni Acasă” civic association, “Puhoacea Nistreană,” “Vis și Realitate,” “Association of Natives of the Manta Commune—Acasă cu Dor,” “Communes of Căzănești and Vadul-Leca,” “PHOENIX International Center for Collaboration and Development,” “Casa Părintească,” “Smart Women,” and “Liga Civică.”
During the certificate award ceremony, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru emphasized that this program makes a significant contribution to reducing the isolation of older adults and creating more inclusive communities.
“Through this program, we support local initiatives that help create communities that are more inclusive and senior-friendly, and the involvement of civil society organizations proves that there are more and more examples of solidarity and responsibility at the local level,” said Natalia Plugaru.
