The World Country Reputation Index for 2026, compiled by Ceoworld magazine, which rates countries on ten interrelated parameters in its model.
- Ethics and integrity.
- Economic dynamism.
- Innovation and technology.
- Quality of life.
- Governance and institutional sustainability.
- Global influence and diplomacy.
- Culture and heritage.
- Human capital and talent.
- Sustainable development and preparedness for the future.
- Social cohesion and global citizenship.
Each of these parameters contains 5 points. That is, in total, countries are evaluated on 50 criteria.
In this ranking, Singapore ranks first.
“Singapore’s rise to the top spot is neither sudden nor unexpected. The country has honed to perfection a competence, stability and foresight that few can match. The government’s policy consistency, transparent governance and long-term urban planning have earned it respect around the world, while its neutral diplomacy has positioned it as a trusted mediator in an increasingly divided world.
Economically, Singapore remains one of the most competitive and technologically advanced economies, ranking high in innovation, infrastructure and ease of doing business. Its commitment to environmental responsibility and multicultural inclusiveness reinforces its status as an exemplary modern state,” the ranking authors explain their choice.
Switzerland and Ireland are next.
The USA is in 34th place, Romania in 53rd, Russia in 66th and Ukraine in 118th.
The Syrian Arab Republic, Palestine and North Korea round out the list.
