The Friendship Group with the UAE has 43 members, chaired by MP Renato Usatii. The Friendship Group with Saudi Arabia has 42 MPs, chaired by Yersilia Katravi.

The new structures are conceived as platforms for dialog and cooperation at the inter-parliamentary level. They are designed to promote mutual understanding, deepen and diversify bilateral relations, as well as the exchange of best practices between parliaments.

In addition, the groups will help identify areas of mutual interest and develop partnerships with long-term impact, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

The composition of the groups was determined following consultations with parliamentary factions on the basis of proposals by MPs.

The initiative of their creation was agreed with the Foreign Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Information and Security Service.

At present, 56 friendship groups are functioning in the XII Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. They are an important tool for developing bilateral relations, strengthening inter-parliamentary dialog and expanding cooperation in various fields.
