Who leads the top
Italy dominates the Polish market, followed by France and Germany.
Poland remains an important import market for European wines, and the ranking is dominated by large traditional producers. Italy ranks first with exports totaling $139.15 million and a volume of 36.55 million liters.
Next come France with $58.41 million and Germany with $57.19 million, followed by Portugal and Spain. This confirms the dominance of European producers in the premium and mid-range segments of the Polish market.
The U.S. ranks sixth.
(Romania ranks 21st, Ukraine 23rd).
Moldova Wins on Price
Even though it lags behind European leaders in terms of value, the Republic of Moldova is strengthening its position through price competitiveness. Moldovan wines are sold at lower prices than wines from France, Italy, the U.S., or New Zealand, giving them an advantage in the volume and mass-market segments.
This export model allows Moldovan producers to remain competitive in a highly competitive market where price plays a significant role in purchasing decisions.
Overall, in 2025, Poland imported approximately 145.86 million liters of wine for a total of $448.66 million at an average price of $3.08 per liter.
