According to the presidential administration, the agenda will focus on energy security amid global volatility in energy markets and regional tensions in the Middle East.
During the meeting, it is planned to assess the impact of external events on Moldova, as well as the measures taken by the authorities to protect citizens and the national economy.
We shall remind you that the government recently approved a draft law on ensuring security of oil products supply, which envisages the implementation of a national system for creating emergency stocks of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied gas.
The measure is aimed at reducing vulnerability in case of import disruptions or regional supply crises. According to the project, stocks equivalent to 61 days of consumption or 90 days of imports will be created by 2034. Energy Minister Dorin Jungetu said the proposed model is a hybrid model, with responsibility for storage shared between the state and market operators.
The National Security Council used to be an advisory body that analyzes issues related to national security and makes recommendations to state institutions. However, according to the decree approving the Regulations on the Organization and Functioning of the National Security Council, signed by the Head of State on 18 March 2026, its decisions are now binding.
