During a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budris, the two sides exchanged views on the progress of the Transnistrian conflict resolution process. In this context, the parties emphasized the importance of reaching a peaceful and sustainable solution that respects Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
At the same time, the parties discussed the progress our country has made in the process of accession to the European Union. In this regard, Lithuania’s consistent support for advancing the country’s European course and implementing the necessary reforms in this process was noted.
The agenda also included prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries, with emphasis placed on the high level of Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as security, institutional capacity building, drawing on Lithuania’s experience in the EU accession process, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an active political dialogue and fully realizing the potential of bilateral cooperation.
