This was reported by the Belarusian news agency BelTA with reference to the Latvian media.

The information notes that today there is already a ban for carriers to carry out international irregular passenger transportation by buses across the Latvian-Belarusian and Latvian-Russian borders.

However, the Latvian Ministry of Transport has drafted amendments to the rules on international passenger transportation by buses, providing for the extension of this ban to regular bus flights.

As explained by the Ministry of Transport, once the draft regulations are approved, the state institution SIA Autotransporta direkcija (Autotransport Directorate, ATD) will issue individual administrative acts on the revocation of permits for specific carriers on the basis of the law on administrative process.

“ATD decisions are individual administrative acts implementing the prohibition of international transportation to Russia and Belarus, as well as international transportation in transit through the territory of Latvia, stipulated in the draft regulations, extending it to specific carriers,” the ministry pointed out.
