The project will contribute to strengthening Moldova’s capacity to develop the agri-food sector and diversify agricultural markets. An important objective is to encourage the association of producers in accordance with the rules and practices of the European Union, so that small and medium-sized farms can create functional and competitive forms of cooperation, MAIA said in a communication on this occasion.
Minister Ludmila Catlabuga said that Italy’s experience in the field of agricultural cooperatives is valuable for Moldova, especially in the context of the European development path and the need to modernize the agri-food sector.
“Cooperation, applied knowledge and access to functional organizational models can help farmers to strengthen their market positions and better use the potential of local production,” the minister said.
