Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank, participated in the presentation, emphasizing the importance of education, the role of professional and independent boards of directors in strengthening institutional stability and confidence in the economy.

“For the National Bank of Moldova, sound corporate governance is a condition for stability. We see this very clearly in the banking sector, where the quality of boards of directors, the independence of decision-making, the professionalism of members and the culture of responsibility have a direct impact on the sustainability of financial institutions. A well-managed bank is a more prudent, more transparent and better prepared to deal with uncertainty. The same principle applies to any company, regardless of its field of activity. In a transformational economy, good governance creates trust, responsibility and a long-term vision,” said Ms. Anca Dragu.

The International Board Leadership Development Program is aimed at developing corporate governance leadership skills among board members and those involved in high-level decision-making processes.

The program has 30 places, with the first module scheduled for May 2026 and will be supported by Professor Philip Stiles of the University of Cambridge.
