“Instead of implementing reforms to address the acute problems of agriculture and stabilize it, the government has decided to spend even more money to aggravate the situation, bureaucratize and extort farming and rural communities,” Forța Fermierilor says in a media statement.
The association harshly criticizes the measures included by the government in the Reform Agenda for the Growth Plan 2025-2027 adopted yesterday. In particular, Forța Fermierilor considers the Agrarian Chambers, the creation of which is initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers on the basis of farmers’ contributions, “a parasitic bureaucratic structure under European slogans”; the LEADER program “a camouflaged instrument of political influence and blackmail”; and the amendments to the Land Code, which provide for additional costs for farmers to pay for the “land price assessment report” when selling land, “a skinning of the peasant’s back”.
At the same time, Forța Fermierilor reiterated its previous demand to urgently introduce an emergency regime in agriculture due to the climatic, epizootic and financial crises faced by Moldovan farming. It also calls on the authorities to appeal to the European Union to establish a Solidarity Fund to overcome the crisis in Moldovan agriculture.
The Forța Fermierilor Association once again confirms its image as a consistently oppositional but pro-European organization. It is noteworthy that the organization demands the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers and a show of anti-crisis solidarity from the EU on the eve of Europe Day (the main supranational holiday for the current ruling elite).
