The undeclared cargo was hidden in a car traveling from Moldova to Romania, the Customs Service said.
The case was initiated after the BYD Yuan Plus model car was subjected to a specialized inspection. The driver was a 45-year-old citizen of the Republic of Moldova who declared that he was not transporting goods subject to declaration.
During the inspection, customs officers found five drones, seven drone remote controls, three batteries and six sets of propellers in the spare wheel compartment – goods not declared to customs authorities.
The goods were seized for confiscation and the investigation is ongoing.
