
The product range is diverse: from beef, horse meat and poultry to sea fish, eggs, dairy products, cereals, grains, dried fruit, seeds, compound feed and bran. The procurement procedure is included in the company’s public procurement plan.
The largest volumes of procurement relate to horsemeat (11 tonnes), beef (6 tonnes), cereals (over 14 tonnes in total) and frozen fish (5 tonnes). Thus, 240,000 lei has been allocated for the beef lot, 308,000 lei for horse meat, and 92,200 lei for cereals.
The client specifies that deliveries will be made on request. Suppliers must confirm their readiness to meet the zoo’s needs for the entire duration of the contract until the end of this year.
Today, Chisinau Zoo is home to around 1,000 animals of various species from every continent, including Antarctica.
Parliament recently passed a new law on zoos, which introduces regulations concerning animal welfare, captive breeding programmes and the management of wild species collections.
